Peru Mission-June 13-20

Our mission was in three suburbs of Lima, Peru with the Lions of La Molina, Monterrico Norte, Padre Hubert Lassiers,and Cieneguilla. The students and instructors were from ISPOO, UPLA and Villarreal. Local optometrists including Demetrio and Gullermo Corrillo worked with Alexis Rodriguez and Nelson Rivera, our optometrists from the U.S.

Our Vosh Southeast group included the Ventochillo-Hickox group including Carmen Ventocilla, Kathryn Hickox, Christine Hickox, Gregory Hickox, Martin Ventocilla, Anthony Ventocilla and family friend, Erika Frankfort. The Central Florida group was Sandy DeNardis, Dave Shagaloff and Mission Leader Max R. Bruss.

We referred 107 patients for cataract surgery to Clinica Divina Nino Jesus. We toured the clinic on Saturday and viewed the facilities for surgery and refraction..

The schedule included Monday and Tuesday at Pamploma, Mercoledì, a tour of the city attractions and lunch with the Ventocilla family of Lima, Thursday at Surquillo, Friday at Cieneguilla and Saturday a tour of Divino Nino and some shopping at the Inca Market.
